They're not stupid, Neil

THERE'S a serious flaw in the strategy of BNP Cumbrian Newspapers editor Neil Hodgkinson. It can only work if his readers are stupid.

Thankfully Cumbrians are not, and that's why yesterday's predicted eve-of-poll attacks on the BNP in the News & Star will have little or no effect on the outcome of the results today.

Mills & Boon eat your heart out . . . ?

Judge for yourself.

Unfortunately for Neil, the newspaper's How will you vote tomorrow? poll has the British National Party in the lead on 24%. (6.30am this morning)

... if you'd like to help us on the day by providing us with news from counts, gossip or comment that would be great. We want to make this the first meaningful election programme staffed entirely by citizen journalists.

We’re interested in receiving as much information, results and gossip from you as possible throughout the course of the day. You may be at a count, or have picked up some into from friends and colleagues, or even from blogs and websites. We want it all fed into us in our live election studio. You can do this in a variety of ways.

PHONE
If you want to appear live on the programme call 01243 556161. Obviously we can only take one call at a time so you may have to wait a bit, but don’t give up!
